Selena

She was a performer, designer and a music innovator. Her ethnicity was Mexican American, however she was also traditional. She introduced Tejano to mainstream culture. Much like with a bright and friendly star is lost far too early and unexpectedly, it caused her to lose the popularity she had been gaining. People mourned the entire extent of the potential that was not fully realized. Her fans are working even harder to not forget what she's achieved. Her tragic murder by a shooter triggered an outpouring of emotion in Latino communities that is comparable to those who reacted to the death of Elvis Presley and John Lennon's. Selena is a hugely popular Latino performer in North America, Selena's music has influenced many people across cultures. Selena may have been hailed by certain people as the Latina Madonna, but she is still a great example to follow. Selena's off-stage family values and involvement with AIDS awareness campaigns provide a great example.
